Keep Calm And Tell God

posted Apr 18, 2016, 3:34 AM by Only way Jesus

If prayer is so essential, which it is, why is it so hard for most believers? Why is it a daily chore or a boring ritual? Why do only some Christians really enjoy spending time in prayer? And most of all, why is it that most people feel guilty that they haven't prayed enough?

Is it because we view "prayer" as a separate activity than 'being' a believer in Jesus Christ? When a person is in a good relationship, there is always communication. Communication will be desired by all parties involved and can vary in duration, type and topic, but it is present. This is part of the relationship and usually "just happens" automatically. This is how it is with a person who asks Jesus to be their God. When one invites Jesus to live 'in' them, they are closer to Jesus than anybody else and is able to freely communicate without any obstacle. Its as easy as talking to yourself, except that you would refer to Jesus when talking. This is where so many people get trapped, because even though Jesus is actually living inside of them, they continue talking to themselves and forget that they can talk to Jesus just as easily!
So, lets just remind ourselves that prayer is communication with God. This can be about absolutely anything because he knows whats on our mind anyway as he is living 'inside' of us. Now, when we communicate with Jesus, we get to have a conversation and know what God has on his mind as well.

What is Christmas?

The moment you realise that your life has been messed up. The moment you regret all the wrong things you’ve done. The moment you wish you could start all over again.... You better here this...

“... Don’t worry..I will say I lied to your mum the other day and went to that party instead....I’ll say that I was the one who made up all those stories about your friend because you hated him...I’ll say that I was the one who hated him... I’ll say that I took the loose change from your Dad’s draw and did not own up...Its ok...I’ll say I did all the things you regret now... If you were to be couldn’t handle it dear...I am able to ransom you...

Look, I’ve already done it in advance...” - Jesus -*

Have you ever considered why we celebrate Christmas??

Oh yeah...Jesus was born on Christmas

So, why don’t we celebrate all the other birthdays like this? Why is Jesus so special?

Let me tell you why... That was what Jesus did in advance for you...even though he is God!

100s of years before he was born, it was foretold by Isaiah “For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

You were born to your mother...however Jesus was born for the world...He was given to us

On the day he was born, the angels notified some of the shepherds outside, “Today in the town of David a Saviour has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.

Why was he given to us? Because we people need saving from the punishment of the wrong we have done...

Don’t be dismayed... All you need to do is accept that Jesus was born for you and he took up your punishment by bleeding to death on a cross for you...this acceptance that Jesus took your place of death will save you...God looks at your heart...

Have you ever heard of anyone who lives forever? Well, because Jesus was God himself, he became human and came down to this earth to die for us, he did not do any sin, but he died in the place of those who have sinned...Death could not handle him...Jesus broke open the gates of death and he triumphed the only thing that caused man to through accepting that Jesus did all this, we too can have life.

Weird? Well, do you have a better plan to start a new life? The only way is to ask the giver of life!

One you have accepted that Christ is your saviour, then you can start to read the Bible which is the tool he has given us to know more about God  and the purpose for your can learn more about how you can know God in a close and personal way...Jesus is only a heart call away...

Jesus is willing to help you start a new life...he can direct you to make the right decisions and live a life worth living!

He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.]

Disobedience is refusal to respond positively to what is required. In theology it means failure to hear and do what God requires.

Disobedience may be simply neglect or it may be active, outright refusal.

Hebrews 2:1-2
(1) Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip.
(2) For if the word spoken by angels was stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompence of reward;

Hebrews 3:16-18 (Psalms 95:7-11)
(16) For some, when they had heard, did provoke: howbeit not all that came out of Egypt by Moses.
(17) But with whom was he grieved forty years? was it not with them that had sinned, whose carcases fell in the wilderness?
(18) And to whom sware he that they should not enter into his rest, but to them that believed not?

At the root of this attitude is a heart that has been hardened, as was true of the people of Israel in the wilderness. Such a heart is said to be sinful and unbelieving.

Hebrews 3:12
(12) Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.

Unbelief and disobedience are linked, because failure to trust the Lord results in failure to do what He commands.

Examples of disobedience in the Scriptures are numerous. Even before God created Adam, some angels sinned. Satan was an angelic being whose attitude toward God was hostile. When he blatantly disobeyed God, he was immediately cast from His presence.

Isaiah 14:12-15
(12) How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!
(15) Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.

Other angels followed Satan and are now under judgment.

2 Peter 2:4
(4) For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment;

Jude 1:6
(6) And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.

Adam and Eve disobeyed God’s explicit instruction and plunged the world under the condemnation of sin.

Romans 5:12-18
(12) Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:
(18) Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.

Moses disregarded God’s command to speak to the rock and dishonored the Lord before all Israel.

Numbers 20:12-24
(12) And the LORD spake unto Moses and Aaron, Because ye believed me not, to sanctify me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore ye shall not bring this congregation into the land which I have given them.
(24) Aaron shall be gathered unto his people: for he shall not enter into the land which I have given unto the children of Israel, because ye rebelled against my word at the water of Meribah.

Because the Israelites failed to believe that God would give them the land He promised, they wandered in the wilderness for forty years.

Deuteronomy 1:26-27
(26) Notwithstanding ye would not go up, but rebelled against the commandment of the LORD your God:
(27) And ye murmured in your tents, and said, Because the LORD hated us, he hath brought us forth out of the land of Egypt, to deliver us into the hand of the Amorites, to destroy us.

One man’s secret defiance spelled disaster for Israel after an overwhelming victory over Jericho.

Joshua 7:15-26
(15) And it shall be, that he that is taken with the accursed thing shall be burnt with fire, he and all that he hath: because he hath transgressed the covenant of the LORD, and because he hath wrought folly in Israel.
(16) So Joshua rose up early in the morning, and brought Israel by their tribes; and the tribe of Judah was taken:
(17) And he brought the family of Judah; and he took the family of the Zarhites: and he brought the family of the Zarhites man by man; and Zabdi was taken:
(18) And he brought his household man by man; and Achan, the son of Carmi, the son of Zabdi, the son of Zerah, of the tribe of Judah, was taken.
(19) And Joshua said unto Achan, My son, give, I pray thee, glory to the LORD God of Israel, and make confession unto him; and tell me now what thou hast done; hide it not from me.
(20) And Achan answered Joshua, and said, Indeed I have sinned against the LORD God of Israel, and thus and thus have I done:
(21) When I saw among the spoils a goodly Babylonish garment, and two hundred shekels of silver, and a wedge of gold of fifty shekels weight, then I coveted them, and took them; and, behold, they are hid in the earth in the midst of my tent, and the silver under it.
(22) So Joshua sent messengers, and they ran unto the tent; and, behold, it was hid in his tent, and the silver under it.
(23) And they took them out of the midst of the tent, and brought them unto Joshua, and unto all the children of Israel, and laid them out before the LORD.
(24) And Joshua, and all Israel with him, took Achan the son of Zerah, and the silver, and the garment, and the wedge of gold, and his sons, and his daughters, and his oxen, and his asses, and his sheep, and his tent, and all that he had: and they brought them unto the valley of Achor.
(25) And Joshua said, Why hast thou troubled us? the LORD shall trouble thee this day. And all Israel stoned him with stones, and burned them with fire, after they had stoned them with stones.
(26) And they raised over him a great heap of stones unto this day. So the LORD turned from the fierceness of his anger. Wherefore the name of that place was called, The valley of Achor, unto this day.

Failing to obey instructions, King Saul offered a sacrifice that displeased the Lord, and this began his downfall (1 Samuel 15:1-27).

Samuel told Saul that God wants obedience far more than He wants sacrifices.

1 Samuel 15:22
(22) And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.

The prophet Jonah rebelled against the Lord’s orders and suffered deeply before God used him to spark a revival among the people of Nineveh.

A similar pattern is found in the New Testament. Disobedience resulted in the first sin in the church at Jerusalem when Ananias and Sapphira lied to the Holy Spirit and took credit for something they didn’t do.

Acts 5:1-11
(1) But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession,
(2) And kept back part of the price, his wife also being privy to it, and brought a certain part, and laid it at the apostles' feet.
(3) But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land?
(4) Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God.
(5) And Ananias hearing these words fell down, and gave up the ghost: and great fear came on all them that heard these things.
(6) And the young men arose, wound him up, and carried him out, and buried him.
(7) And it was about the space of three hours after, when his wife, not knowing what was done, came in.
(8) And Peter answered unto her, Tell me whether ye sold the land for so much? And she said, Yea, for so much.
(9) Then Peter said unto her, How is it that ye have agreed together to tempt the Spirit of the Lord? behold, the feet of them which have buried thy husband are at the door, and shall carry thee out.
(10) Then fell she down straightway at his feet, and yielded up the ghost: and the young men came in, and found her dead, and, carrying her forth, buried her by her husband.
(11) And great fear came upon all the church, and upon as many as heard these things.

In describing the last days, Paul indicated that disobedience would be prevalent.

2 Timothy 3:1-5
(1) This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
(2) For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
(3) Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
(4) Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
(5) Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

He said it was an indication that the spirit of the adversary is at work.

Ephesians 2:1-3
(1) And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;
(2) Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
(3) Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.

The history of the church reveals that disobeying God brings devastating consequences.

Disobedience brought about the necessity of the death of Christ. Nowhere in Scripture is this so clearly seen as in Paul’s letter to the Romans. Through the disobedience of one man, Paul said, many were made sinners.

Romans 5:14-19
(14) Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.
(18) Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.
(19) For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.

This one trespass brought condemnation to all. Adam’s sin was a blatant act, a breaking of a command. Christ’s obedience, however, stands in sharp contrast to this one man’s sin. Peter called Jesus the precious Stone for believers and a stumbling stone for those who disobey the message.

1 Peter 2:7-8
(7) Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner,
(8) And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed.

In this passage unbelief and disobedience are synonymous, although not all disobedience is a result of unbelief.

Several admonitions concerning disobedience are given in the Bible. Church leaders are to have children who believe and are not characterized as wild and disobedient.

Titus 1:6
(6) If any be blameless, the husband of one wife, having faithful children not accused of riot or unruly.

Christians are to be submissive to people who are in authority over them, both in society and in the church, because disobedience is a mark of unbelievers.

Titus 3:1-3
(1) Put them in mind to be subject to principalities and powers, to obey magistrates, to be ready to every good work,
(2) To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle, shewing all meekness unto all men.
(3) For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.

Believers should not associate with those who disobey God’s Word.

2 Thessalonians 3:14
(14) And if any man obey not our word by this epistle, note that man, and have no company with him, that he may be ashamed.

The gracious conduct of a believing wife can be the means of winning over a husband who is disobedient to the Word of God.

1 Peter 3:1-2
(1) Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives;
(2) While they behold your chaste conversation coupled with fear.

Learn God’s commands in the Scriptures and determine, with the Holy Spirit’s help, to obey them

A father’s discipline of his son blends instruction and correction.

Deuteronomy 8:5
(5) Thou shalt also consider in thine heart, that, as a man chasteneth his son, so the LORD thy God chasteneth thee.

Hebrews 12:5-11
(5) And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him:
(6) For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.
(7) If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?
(8) But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.
(9) Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?
(10) For they verily for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure; but he for our profit, that we might be partakers of his holiness.
(11) Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.

The concept of teaching and training—which includes attaining wisdom and doing what is right and proper—comes from the meaning of the words used in both Old and New Testaments. Solomon told his son, Proverbs 3:11-12
(11) ...despise not the chastening of the LORD; neither be weary of his correction:
(12) For whom the LORD loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth.

The predominant emphasis in both Testaments is toward positive growth and development, although there is an aspect of the subject that relates to chastisement. Punishment is never seen as an end in itself. Rather it is to bring out the best in an individual and ultimately to cause him or her to glorify God. At least four areas of discipline can be found in the Bible: discipline of Israel as a nation; of individuals (both Old and New Testament believers); discipline by local churches; and parental discipline of their children.

Before the people of Israel entered the Promised Land, Moses reminded them of how God had spoken from heaven and demonstrated His power on earth through great and awesome deeds to discipline them.

Deuteronomy 4:32-36
(32) For ask now of the days that are past, which were before thee, since the day that God created man upon the earth, and ask from the one side of heaven unto the other, whether there hath been any such thing as this great thing is, or hath been heard like it?
(33) Did ever people hear the voice of God speaking out of the midst of the fire, as thou hast heard, and live?
(34) Or hath God assayed to go and take him a nation from the midst of another nation, by temptations, by signs, and by wonders, and by war, and by a mighty hand, and by a stretched out arm, and by great terrors, according to all that the LORD your God did for you in Egypt before your eyes?
(35) Unto thee it was shewed, that thou mightest know that the LORD he is God; there is none else beside him.
(36) Out of heaven he made thee to hear his voice, that he might instruct thee: and upon earth he shewed thee his great fire; and thou heardest his words out of the midst of the fire.

One of the purposes of the Book of Numbers was to record God’s actions in disciplining His people so we could learn from those experiences.

1 Corinthians 10:11
(11) Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.

Hebrews 4:11
(11) Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.

Although God’s actions seemed severe at times, they were based on His love for them.

Deuteronomy 4:37
(37) And because he loved thy fathers, therefore he chose their seed after them, and brought thee out in his sight with his mighty power out of Egypt;

The demands of the Lord are clearly described in Scripture, and without assistance the standards are often unattainable. Because God’s discipline is anchored in His love and grace, His provisions are equally great.

The heart of the teaching on this subject comes from the Book of Proverbs. Given initially to Israel, these instructions apply to believers in any age. According to Solomon those who respond positively to discipline are good examples for others.

Proverbs 6:23
(23) For the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life:

Proverbs 10:17
(17) He is in the way of life that keepeth instruction: but he that refuseth reproof erreth.

Ignoring discipline will result in poverty and shame and reveal that people don’t care about themselves.

Proverbs 13:18
(18) Poverty and shame shall be to him that refuseth instruction: but he that regardeth reproof shall be honoured.

Proverbs 15:32
(32) He that refuseth instruction despiseth his own soul: but he that heareth reproof getteth understanding.

The person who loves discipline loves knowledge (12:1), but the one who rejects instruction is a fool.

Proverbs 12:1
(1) Whoso loveth instruction loveth knowledge: but he that hateth reproof is brutish.

Proverbs 15:5
(5) A fool despiseth his father's instruction: but he that regardeth reproof is prudent.

Folly, Solomon said, is undisciplined, lacks knowledge, and is the opposite of wisdom.

Proverbs 9:13
(13) A foolish woman is clamorous: she is simple, and knoweth nothing.

Because God disciplines in love, we should not resent His corrections. Solomon exhorted parents not to neglect disciplining their children even if it means using a rod.

Proverbs 22:15
(15) Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child; but the rod of correction shall drive it far from him.

Failure to provide proper discipline can contribute to a child’s ruin.

Proverbs 19:18
(18) Chasten thy son while there is hope, and let not thy soul spare for his crying.

Parental neglect of discipline demonstrates hatred instead of love.

Proverbs 13:24
(24) He that spareth his rod hateth his son: but he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes.

The New Testament instruction on individual discipline amplifies the Old Testament teaching. The central passage is Hebrews 12. Jesus, who willingly endured the cross, is the perfect example for all believers who struggle with difficult experiences in life. These hardships are to be endured as discipline for they provide evidence of a close relationship to God.

Hebrews 12:7
(7) If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?

Just as earthly fathers use discipline with their children, so the heavenly Father disciplines His children for their good. Discipline is not pleasant; in fact, the opposite is true.

Hebrews 12:11
(11) Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.

Yet it is God’s way of making our lives productive in holiness, righteousness, and peace. If we respect our earthly fathers because they disciplined us, how much more should our hearts respond in love and gratitude to our heavenly Father whose discipline results in eternal benefits.

Another aspect of this subject is church discipline. Peter dealt with an issue in the early church at Jerusalem. Had he not done so, it ultimately could have been devastating to the entire church family. Ananias and Sapphira pretended to give all their proceeds from a property sale to the Lord, but they kept part of it for themselves. Peter, guided by the Holy Spirit, challenged them for lying. The physical death of this couple taught the church an important lesson.

Acts 5:11
(11) And great fear came upon all the church, and upon as many as heard these things.

This and other passages in the Epistles provide some principles for church discipline. Action is necessary when individuals have sinned against the Lord, and it affects the life of the whole congregation.

Acts 5:4
(4) Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God.

1 Corinthians 11:27-31
(27) Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.
(28) But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup.
(29) For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord's body.
(30) For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep.
(31) For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.

It is the responsibility of the leadership of the church to deal with issues within the church.

1 Corinthians 5:5-12
(5) To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.
(11) But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat.
(12) For what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that are within?

If the individuals continue in sin after having been confronted, then certain restrictions are necessary. Disciplinary action should have as its goal the good of the individual as well as the preservation of the congregation. Once an individual has responded properly to church discipline, it is important to forgive him so Satan does not take advantage of the situation.

Another area where discipline is to be exercised is the family. Paul exhorted, Ephesians 6:4
(4) And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.

Those who are in church leadership are called to manage their families well with special reference to children.

1 Timothy 3:4-12
(4) One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity;
(12) Let the deacons be the husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well.

More specifically Paul told Titus that leaders’ children are to be believers and are to conduct themselves in a godly manner.

Titus 1:6
(6) If any be blameless, the husband of one wife, having faithful children not accused of riot or unruly.

Bringing up children in the way of the Lord was considered a good deed.

1 Timothy 5:10
(10) Well reported of for good works; if she have brought up children, if she have lodged strangers, if she have washed the saints' feet, if she have relieved the afflicted, if she have diligently followed every good work.

Jesus fasted for 40 days and nights. Why? To prepare for the ministry ahead of him. Even though he was the son of God, Jesus had to fast, how much more do we need to?

Extracted from

Why You Should Fast

If you do not already know of the power and importance of fasting, here are some very important facts:

  • Fasting was an expected discipline in both the Old and New Testament eras. For example, Moses fasted at least two recorded forty-day periods. Jesus fasted 40 days and reminded His followers to fast, "when you fast," not if you fast.
  • Fasting and prayer can restore the loss of the "first love" for your Lord and result in a more intimate relationship with Christ.
  • Fasting is a biblical way to truly humble yourself in the sight of God (Psalm 35:13; Ezra 8:21). King David said, "I humble myself through fasting."
  • Fasting enables the Holy Spirit to reveal your true spiritual condition, resulting in brokenness, repentance, and a transformed life.
  • The Holy Spirit will quicken the Word of God in your heart and His truth will become more meaningful to you!
  • Fasting can transform your prayer life into a richer and more personal experience.
  • Fasting can result in a dynamic personal revival in your own life-and make you a channel of revival to others.
  • Fasting and prayer are the only disciplines that fulfill the requirements of II Chronicles 7:14:

"If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land."

If you fast, you will find yourself being humbled as I did. You will discover more time to pray and seek God's face. And as He leads you to recognize and repent of unconfessed sin, you will experience special blessings from God.

A Call for New Testament Christianity

A Call for New Testament Christianity

Jesus died for his church, the bride of Christ. (Ephesians 5:25-33) Man throughout history has corrupted the church that Christ died for through denominationalism, by adding man-made laws to the scriptures, and by following creeds other than the Holy Bible.

It is possible today, to be obedient to the will of Christ. Christians can resolve to restore the church to being the church of the New Testament. (Acts 2:41-47)

Some Things You Should Know

You should know that in Bible times, the church is called:

  • The temple of God (1 Corinthians 3:16)
  • The bride of Christ (Ephesians 5:22-32)
  • The body of Christ (Colossians 1:18,24; Ephesians 1:22-23)
  • The kingdom of God's son (Colossians 1:13)
  • The house of God (1 Timothy 3:15)
  • The church of God (1 Corinthians 1:2)
  • The church of the first-born (Hebrews 12:23)
  • The church of the Lord (Acts 20:28)
  • The churches of Christ (Romans 16:16)

You should know that the church is:

  • Built by Jesus Christ (Matthew 16:13-18)
  • Purchased by the blood of Christ (Acts 20:28)
  • Built on Jesus Christ as the only foundation (1 Corinthians 3:11)
  • Not built on Peter, Paul, or any other man (1 Corinthians 1:12-13)
  • Composed of the saved, who are added to it by the Lord who saves them (Acts 2:47)

You should know that members of the church are called:

  • Members of Christ (1 Corinthians 6:15; 1 Corinthians 12:27; Romans 12:4-5)
  • Disciples of Christ (Acts 6:1,7; Acts 11:26)
  • Believers (Acts 5:14; 2 Corinthians 6:15)
  • Saints (Acts 9:13; Romans 1:7; Philippians 1:1)

Preach the Gospel

posted Jun 18, 2010, 3:57 AM by Only way Jesus

Mark 16:15, “And He said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the Gospel to every creature.”

Jesus commanded His disciples to GO into all the world and PREACH THE GOSPEL. The key word is “Go.” Most churches today don't GO as the Bible commands. Rather, they sit or remain idle. They are as those unfaithful servants in Matthew 20:6 of whom Jesus said, “Why stand ye here all the day idle?” (Note: All Scripture references are only from the trustworthy King James Bible).

The most important duty of every Christian is to go soulwinning. 2nd Corinthians 5:10-11, “For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad. Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men...” Every born-again believer has a responsibility to preach the Gospel, i.e., to share the Good News of Jesus Christ crucified with lost sinners so that they can be forgiven and spend eternity in Heaven.

Carefully notice that the Bible does NOT say to go into the world and make music. The Bible does NOT say to go into the world and start a business. The Bible does NOT say to go into the world and write books. No, rather, God's inspired Words instruct us to PREACH THE GOSPEL. We read in Romans 10:13-14, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in Him of Whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?” The great need of the hour in today's churches is preaching preachers who teach their flock to be soulwinners.

Matthew 28:19-20 are commonly referred to as “The Great Commission.” “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” Most believers fail to realize that there are two parts to The Great Commission: 1) Preaching the Gospel, and 2) Teaching new converts how to be soulwinners. The Lord wants us to go soulwinning and then teach those whom we have the privilege of leading to the Lord how to become soulwinners themselves. There is a Biblical mandate for each believer to go forth preaching the Gospel. We must give account to God for each day of our life (Romans 14:12).

Throughout the Midwestern part of the United States, there's an egg company which prints Bible verses inside every carton of eggs. They are planting the Seed of God's Word into the hearts of people. Amen! There is something that each of us can do to influence others to receive Christ. Look what this man of God is doing to get the Gospel message out to the lost. Romans 10:17 tells us that “faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” We don't need to be eloquent in speech or a gifted writer or a theologian to get people saved, we just need to tell lost sinners that they need Christ's righteousness, because we have none of our own to offer God.

This sin-cursed world has been lied to by false ministers to think that the only way to Heaven is to do good works and stop sinning. That is the same type of self-righteousness that Cain offered God, which God rejected (Genesis 4:1-5). Although God does not give anyone permission to sin, living a separated or surrendered life for God has nothing to do with salvation. The Bible proclaims in Romans 3:23a, “For all have sinned.” The Bible condemns all mankind, because we have all sinned. There are no good people (Romans 3:10-23). There are some good men as far as sinners go, but they are still sinful men deserving of Hell. No amount of self-righteousness can make up for the sins one commits. This is why Jesus lovingly paid our sin debt, because we could not. What a precious Savior!

The Bible does NOT tell us to go into the world making religious music, or to make a career of singing or entertaining. These are falsehoods that some people claim as a “ministry” without preaching the Gospel. Many people nowadays have wrongfully slapped a “ministry” label on pursuits, activities and functions that are totally devoid of preaching the Gospel. Many pro-homosexual, pro-abortion and pro-feminist groups have falsely labeled their evil works as a “ministry.” They are sinister ministers of Satan. The Devil is a beautiful liar. Genuine Biblical ministries PREACH THE GOSPEL of Jesus Christ to a lost and dying world in an effort to get people saved. What good does it profit a man if you feed him a bowl of soup and provide him some clothing, but fail to warn him concerning the wrath of God which abideth upon Christ-rejecters. John 3:36, “He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.”

Oh, how this world needs Jesus Christ, the Son of God. Allah is a fraud. Buddha is a fake. Zoroaster is a phony. The Pope is a false prophet. The Virgin Mary did NOT remain a virgin. Muhammad is an imposter. Confucius died confused. The stone covering the entrance to Jesus' tomb was not rolled away to permit the Lord to exit; but rather, to show the world that Jesus had already risen from the dead. Jesus is alive evermore! Jesus is the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, THE ALMIGHTY (Revelation 1:8). Amen!

Whatever ministry you may be involved in, it is no work for God if you fail to PREACH THE GOSPEL. I wouldn't give you a dime for a Bible scholar who doesn't go soulwinning. I wouldn't give you a dime for a Gospel singer who doesn't attempt to win the audience to Christ by preaching the Gospel. To the same extent that God has given someone influence over people, to that same extent He will hold that individual accountable for PREACHING THE GOSPEL to lost sinners (Luke 12:48). America's theological seminaries are nothing more than spiritual cemeteries, filled with dried-up corpses who never go soulwinning, never pass out a Gospel tract, never shed a tear over lost souls. May God give us more Bible-believing, Christ-honoring, sin-hating, soul-loving, Christians who PREACH THE GOSPEL.

94. Hebrews 11:6.
God is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who

666: The Mark of the Beast

posted Jun 14, 2010, 7:30 PM by Only way Jesus

What is it?
Many Christians believe the 666 mark will be a biochip implant to create the cashless society of Revelation 13.

Why is it so bad?
All who take the mark will be damned by God to be cast into the Lake of Fire.

Why will those who take the mark be damned?
I think it's because God made Silver and Gold as honest weights and measures to be used as money!
Money is NOT paper (which is a promise), not electronic credits, not chips, not a mark, nor a number!

The Use of Paper Money Violates All of the Ten Commandments

For more on the nature of gold and silver and why they are real money, please read my other site,

Here are the main verses on 666, the mark of the beast:
Revelation 13:16 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:
Revelation 13:17 And that no man might
buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name
Revelation 13:18 Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six. (666)
Using the extended meanings of the original Greek text, Michael E. O'Brien of (now a dead link) created an alternate possible translation given of Rev. 13, that indicates a biochip implant containing a number like the social security number could fulfill the prophecy very precisely:  Rev 13: [16] He [the second beast] caused everyone, small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive an etching of servitude (made with a sharp point) in their right hand, or in their foreheads; [17] so that no one could buy or sell unless they had the etching of servitude, or the authority of the beast, or the number of his authority. [18] Here is wisdom. Let him that has understanding count the pebbles as the number of the beast, for it is an individual's [identification] number. His number is incised with a pricking action - willingly - by one claiming to possess the Godhead...

In the USA, 98-99% of all transactions are already cashless, and cash represents about 1-4% of bank deposits.  (See my article, "Major Frauds of the U.S. Monetary System". Smart cards and biochip pet implants are in wide use in Europe. Many Christians strongly suspect that this "mark of the beast" prophesy will be implemented by technology that exists today, the biochip implant (syringe implantable microchip/lithium transponder), or an invisible tatoo designed to go in the right hand or forehead.

So, when will the mark of the beast come?
The technology exists today, and people are getting chips implanted under their skin today.
We have the social security number today, we have paper money today.
But I believe the final and ultimate fulfillment of the prophecy of the mark of the beast will take place in the second half of the 7 year tribulation, and before that, Christians may escape that time of trouble in the rapture. -- teaching the pretribulation rapture, that I believe will come before the time of the mark of the beast.

Here are more scriptures in Revelation that talk about the mark of the beast.  Note, in Revelation 19:20, the people who take the mark are
deceived! This means they are tricked, or that they do not know the full implications of what they are doing.  The may not realize that taking the mark is an act of worship, or that it is an evil action that God hates.

Revelation 14:9 And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice,
If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand,
    Revelation 14:10
The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:
    Revelation 14:11
And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.
Revelation 14:12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

Revelation 15:2 And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire: and them that had gotten the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, and over the number of his name, stand on the sea of glass, having the harps of God.

Revelation 16:2 And the first went, and poured out his vial upon the earth; and there fell a noisome and grievous sore upon the men which had the mark of the beast, and upon them which worshipped his image.

Revelation 19:20 And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.

Revelation 20:4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.
Revelation 20:5 But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.
Revelation 20:6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.

The move to a cashless system is not a war against cash.  It is really a war against gold and silver.  Paper money cash has already served it's useful purpose, to get people to forget that gold and silver are money.  Cash and bonds are used to take the gold and silver away from the people.

In sum here are my prophetic views:  I believe the rapture will happen before the seven year tribulation.  I believe the mark of the beast will start half way through the seven year tribulation, when the Antichrist sits in the temple in Jerusalem, and demands to be worshipped as God.  I believe the war of Ezekiel 38 takes place at the start of the tribulation, which will look like Armageddon.  Israel is wealthy in gold and silver and cattle, and is at peace, before this war.  I believe that in order for the prophecy of Ezekiel 38 to take place, the world will have to return to a world gold standard, and I believe it is likely that there will be a world government, perhaps for an entire generation before the rapture.  I believe that the Great Harlot of Revelation 17-18 is the international bankers, or perhaps a few hundred familes of Jerusalem, who were prophesied to lend to the nations which helps them rule over them.  The harlot is destroyed by the seventh beast which is a world kingdom with ten kings, and they give their power to the eighth beast, the Antichrist, who installs his mark of the beast economic system.  His system will be against gold and silver, and he will likely use biochipping technology to implement the mark of the beast.  But the mark is also a number.  And remember, those who take it are supporting and worshipping the beast (governmental) system of fraudulent weights and measures instead of God's system of honest measures, such as gold and silver.

Here are a few of my important essays on the issue of money.  Listed first, are those essays with more overt Biblical themes.

Personally, I don't think the Social Security number IS the mark of the beast, but I do believe that the mark will incorporate the Social Security numbers that everyone already has, and I do belive that Social Security numbers are evil, legally voluntary, and should be rejected as soon as possible by Christians everywhere.
